A team of destination

29 10 2004
Now that a couple of days have passed since the Red Sox became the Champions (pinch me) of Major League Baseball (OMFG!), I have finally gotten enough sleep to comment on the historic event.

This post-season really was one for the record books. I know that in 30 years I'll be telling my grandkids about the time I watched the Red Sox make history way back in 2004. However, at this point I don't know how to take it. The whole "Curse" thing and 1918 have been so much a part of my (and probably your) psyche for so long that it's as though I just can't accept that the suffering is actually over. 1918 means nothing. Pedro did wake up the Bambino and drill him in the ass. Oh well, I'll learn to enjoy it as time goes by, and I get the season recap DVD.

But, are the Sox just another team now?

You are so right. I can't believe it still. I am still shell shocked. I guess it will take time to sink in. Now for the Patriots to win another one! WoooooOOOOooooo!

nah, they will still be our Sox, and close to our hearts...however this years team is already starting to get ripped apart, so it will be a very different team in the spring.
