Screw the Bruins. I mean it. Screw 'em. I've had it. They don't deserve to win the series vs. Montreal. Bargh.
Rant complete.

The New England Patriots are Super Bowl champs for the second time in three years. Hey Mabel, can you say 'Dynasty'? I don't know about you but that was the probably the best Super Bowl game I have ever watched. It was even more dramatic than the big win two years ago. And like the '01-'02 Pats, we can yet again thank Tom 'Little Joe' Brady and Adam Vinatieri for pulling it out at the end. Of course, my whole night's experience would have been complete had I had one of those
cool circa 1982 sweatshirts that Chris has. Oh well, I had to settle for a circa 1994 McEachern Bruins jersey. Ugh.
Of course, we Massholes showed our true colors after the game and Burned down Kenmore Square in Boston, and some drunk moron plowed into a crowd at BU and killed someone. Such is the way... just ask the residents of Montreal in 1993. I was
praying that one of those clowns in front of Pizzeria Uno caught fire.

For the second time in three years, the Patriots are going to the Super Bowl after spanking the mighty Indianapolis Colts 24-14.
The opposition: the Carolina Panthers, as they beat the cheesesteak out of the Eagles, who looked as soft as cream cheese. (Sorry, I just couldn't help it.) 14-3. Neither game was as close as the scores told.
Sorry Tony Murabito, I'd have loved to see a Pats-Eagles Super Bowl, but it just ain't gonna happen.

I'm all tingly and giddy like a school girl. Apologies in advance for yet another sports related post, but it's come true:
Curt Schilling has waived his no-trade clause and has joined the Boston Red Sox. The team traded Casey Fossum, Brandon Lyon and two minor-league prospects for him, in what looks like the steal of the century. The current Sox starting rotation is now:
- Pedro Martinez
- Curt Schilling
- Derek Lowe
- Tim Wakefield
There is a question about who's going to be the fifth starter, probably bendy-elbowed, middle-finger-pointing Byung-Hyun Kim or Bronson Arroyo.
The Sox now have arguably the best rotation in all of baseball. Combine that with the historic offense that this team put up last year, and Boston will be the odds-on favorite to win the World Series in 2004.
Next up: Keith Foulke comes in as the dominant closer and maybe, just maybe, Alex Rodriguez at short and Nomar at second. I can't wait for April.

I got kinda sick of seeing the horrific Game 7 reminder up here. The Sox have scarred me once again. Fortunately, the pain was lessened somewhat by a kick-ass 19-13 OT victory by the New England Patriots over the Miami Dolphins yesterday. Squish the fish! The win put them in first place in the AFC East. You like the logo I used? I prefer it to the newer one.
Back to the Red Sox for a second. I was seven when they blew it in 1986, and I cried like a little girl. It was that year I started watching hockey, and never really looked back. I had kind of forced myself to pay no attention to baseball or the Sox. Watching these playoff series' brought back all the feelings of why I used to like baseball so much. I liken the Red Sox to a girlfriend that cheats and I, the fan, as the no self-esteem guy who keeps putting up with it. You did it to me again, Red Sox. I'll never trust you again.
What's that? You...you want me back? You're sorry?
sniffle You better not be fooling...

It just doesn't get any bigger than this. After another back-against-the-wall victory against the
Evil Empire, The Red Sox are within one victory of returning to the World Series since 1986. (I don't want to hear any comments about how that turned out, Spankee fans.)
Tonight. Game 7 of the ALCS. Petey vs. The Rocket. It oughtta be great. All I can say is:
YANKEES SUCK!
